The government affairs and lobbying practice for TEG is headed up by Anthony (T.J.) and Jennifer Trujillo.
ANTHONY J. TRUJILLO
T.J. serves as a registered lobbyist for clients on state and local issues. In addition, T.J. is an attorney in New Mexico and practices government affairs law, administrative law, and litigation. T.J. graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Arizona in 1995. Thereafter, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Western New Mexico University and Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona in 2000.
Jennifer is the business manager for TEG, managing all contract lobbyists, handling all financial and marketing matters as well as serving as a lobbyist. Her professional experiences include tourism-related public relations as well as corporate communications for a large utility company. Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a focus on public relations from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration from Western New Mexico University.
TEG also includes specialty services provided by a variety of contractors with extensive experience in government affairs. Depending on the unique needs of each client, T.J. and Jennifer assembles the appropriate team members to accomplish a client's goals in an effective and efficient manner. Team members include:
Mike is the Executive Director of the New Mexico Mining Association. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the College of Santa Fe. Following a twenty-four year career in Law Enforcement, Mike retired from the New Mexico State Police. He has been Lobbying for over 30 years.
Robert Romero is registered lobbyist for clients on state and local issues. In addition, Robert is a licensed Civil Engineer in the state of New Mexico. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1988, thereafter he worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation in several capacities for 13 years. Mr. Romero subsequently worked for the City of Santa Fe as City Engineer, Public Works Director, and ultimately City Manager.
Amy brings a decade of political and government experience to The Emissary Group, including managing political campaigns, working in the Minnesota state legislature, and policy work in Washington, DC. Most recently, she spent the last three years in New Mexico's executive branch working on issues relating to natural resources and agriculture. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in global studies with a focus on governance and politics from the University of Minnesota.
Shortly after graduating law school, Rikki-Lee opened her own legal practice in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. Her practice focused on criminal defense and legislative advocacy on criminal justice reform measures. Since moving to Santa Fe in 2016, Rikki-Lee has gained more experience with corporate clients in regulatory settings and most recently, has opened Capitol Counsel & Consulting, LLC where she provides a myriad of legal services as well as government relations. Rikki-Lee's legal and government relations experience brings to The Emissary Group strong leadership as well as a broad knowledge of legislative procedures and a wide array of corporate matters.
